The handle of these moribashi is shaped from magnolia, a lightweight native Japanese wood long favored in knife and tool handles for its even grain and comfortable grip. The tip is heat-treated stainless steel, hardened for durability and edge retention, joined to the handle by a collar made from cotton-based natural resin chosen for its oil resistance and smooth tactile quality.
