Riso Donabe Black 3-Goh ZAKKOKU
The Black Zakkoku Donabe by Riso Porcelain is designed specifically for cooking multigrain rice, "zakkoku" (雑穀) meaning "mixed grains" in Japanese. The 3-goh capacity serves 3 to 4 people, making it well suited for family meals and communal dining. Donabe clay retains heat evenly and gently, drawing out the natural flavors and textures of each grain. Finished in a deep black glaze, the pot moves naturally from stovetop to table.
Material: Clay
Dimensions: Ø 9.3" × 6.3" H (Ø 235 × 160 mm)
Care
- Compatible with gas stovetop. Do not use on induction or electric cooktops.
- Do not use for deep frying.
- Transfer leftover broth to a separate container promptly after use and wash without soaking. The clay is porous and absorbs moisture, which can cause odor and mold if left sitting.
- After washing, leave the lid off and heat the empty pot over a low flame for about 10 minutes to dry completely before storing. Do not leave the empty pot on heat for extended periods.
- If using a dishwasher, remove promptly once the cycle ends and allow to air dry completely before storing.
- Discontinue use if cracks appear on the base of the pot.
- Always use a trivet to protect surfaces, as the base becomes very hot during cooking.
